Enjoy the Self...

Solitude is the sweetest paradise, the warmest comfort, the purest serenity… The sense of lightness it evokes frees the soul from the strings of everyday chaos. A place to refresh, recharge, and grow.. with no rules to follow, no lines to draw, no words to find, no thoughts to hide... simply listening to the silence, embracing nature, detaching from the world, connecting with the Self, and discovering a life beyond the horizon. Not expecting, not craving… just being.  No wishing of the past, nor dreaming of the future… only living this moment of now.

“I learned that inspiration does not come like a bolt, nor is kinetic, energetic striving, but it comes to us slowly and quietly and all the time, though we must regularly and everyday give it a little chance to start flowing, prime it with a little solitude and idleness...”

Do something now

He who wants to do good
knocks at the gate;
he who loves finds the door open.
- Rabindranath Tagore

 -------

We all have this amazing ability to give, to care, to love..
Whether it's waving a hello or smiling at a stranger, striking a chat with friend who has a "had a bad day" status, or taking the time to genuinely listen to someone who needs to talk.. just remember that it takes very little to make a powerful impact on someone. These may not seem like "life-changing" events but sometimes just acknowledging a person is enough to go a long way!
So do something now.. it doesn't take much to make a difference =)

I wondered what happened when you offered yourself to someone, and they opened you, only to discover you were not the gift they expected and they had to smile and nod and say thank you all the same.

From ‘My Sister’s Keeper’ by Jodi Picoult

I’ll paint you a picture...

I’ll paint you a picture but you might say,
It’s blank!
Because I paint with my eyes. Now see these lines…
But there’s no--
Please, try?
See the lines and how they converge, like pointing fingers, right to this spot…
A focal point: for emphasis, to draw interest towards--
No, no it’s just a distraction.
From what?
From everything around.
I don’t see a-ny-thing…
Because the color scheme of honest-to-goodness is just another maze.
Not all laughter is medicine. Laugh With. Laugh At. Some is poison. Sometimes you don’t know which one you’re swallowing. Sometimes, you just close your eyes and gulp down the bitterness as fast as you can.
But it stains.
It reminds.

She was waiting for the perfect time for a perfect chance.
Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.
Say it enough times and realize the irony.

I don’t think we can ever claim to be free

we rely, we belong, we connect every time we cross paths, refuse a glance, open the door, say hello, and then deny- yes even then, even when you don't want to

we are loose dots held together by simple transactions
together, we make up something,
a give-take world, perhaps out of balance
